The BVI offers an incredibly diverse dive environment and is relatively shallow. Virtually all sites stay above 60ft. You’ll find many healthy underwater gardens abundant in hard and soft corals. Other sites feature beautiful geological formations, including caverns, overhangs, arches and tunnels. Visibility often exceeds 100 feet.
The BVI’s location along historic trading routes means that divers can explore shipwreck sites both old and new. Protected mangroves foster juveniles, while open-water sites host large passing pelagics.
Tropical fish are plentiful on most reefs and rays and other pelagics are often seen. Between February and April you will very likely hear, and may see, humpback whales, which come to the BVI to breed. |
